Claremore to Host Shoreline Shred Over Labor Day Weekend

Aug. 24, 2021 | CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Claremore Trails Association will host Tour de Dirt’s Shoreline Shred, a mountain bike championship series run by racers for racers. Festivities will kick off with a concert on Sept. 4, followed by races on Sept. 5, 2021.

“Hundreds of entrants are expected at this year’s Shoreline Shred, attracting mountain-bike enthusiasts throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states,” said Tanya Andrews, director of Visit Claremore. “Our well-designed bike trails along the shoreline of beautiful Claremore Lake provides the perfect setting for Oklahoma Tour de Dirt competitors.”

The Claremore Collective is sponsoring a free trail concert on Sat., Sept. 4 from 4 – 8 p.m. on the Claremore Mountain Bike Trail, 15012 E. 470 Rd.  Attendees are encouraged to hike, bike or paddle to the event.

Shoreline Shred begins at the trails at 9:30 a.m. on Sun., Sept. 5 with the kids race, followed by the professional events.  The courses range from 7.5 miles to 22.5 miles.  Race-day registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and online registration is available at usacycling.org.  More information is available here.

About Claremore Lake Mountain Bike Trails

Nestled along Claremore Lake is a 15-mile single-track trail perfect for mountain biking, hiking, trail running and nature walks. The trails offer diverse experiences for beginners and experts, and includes an access ramp for hand launching kayaks, canoes, or rafts at the North Trailhead parking lot.

The mission of the TdD is to provide an annual series of competitive cross country mountain bike races in or near Oklahoma, incorporating point accumulation to determine series awards for racers of various ages and skill levels. The TdD is the official USA Cycling State Mountain Bike Championship series for Oklahoma.
